Bottom Pour Ladle
Rimrock's innovative bottom pour ladle is proven to produce superior castings at low scrap rates. The cup's unique design lessens hot metal leakage and enhances casting quality by minimizing oxides and reducing filling turbulence.
The bottom pour ladle allows for one or more ceramic cups to be attached to the robot tool flange. A pneumatically actuated ceramic stopper keeps the opening at the bottom of the ladle cup sealed until the fill position is reached. The stopper is then raised to allow the cup to fill with metal. Once full, the robot seals the cup and moves to the pour position to allow the metal to flow into the mold. By filling aluminum under the bath surface and pouring from the bottom of the ladle, oxides are minimized. A dual sensor system is used to sense metal level and protect the cup from damage.
