Saws
Rimrock’s Foundry Saw, combined with a robot, is an efficient way to remove heavy aluminum gates, sprues, or overflows. When fitted with the optional servo slide, it can also be used to perform “facing” of a casting's surface. The saw, 30 HP with a standard spindle speed of 1765 RPM, is fast and flexible for aluminum or other nonferrous castings, such as cylinder heads, intake manifolds, water pumps, or brass castings. For increased performance, our standard saw can be easily upgraded to a servo foundry saw with an integral servo-drive axis. |
Foundry Saw Features
• Blade sizes from 14" to 26" diameter
• Maximum spindle speed of 3100 RPM
• Heavy duty Setco spindle, balanced at 5000 rpm, with timing belt drive.
• Standard “soft-start” motor starter
• Standard controls designed to control from one to three scrap conveyors
• Controls designed to optimize safety in a robotic cell
Servo Foundry Saw Features
| • | Modular belt drive servo linear slide, with stroke lengths up to 72”, easily integrates with the Cut-off Saw |
| • | Robotically loaded/unloaded carriage moves parts across the saw blade |
| • | External profile rail guides add rigid support through the cut |
| • | Straightforward procedures allow quick and accurate setup, allowing slide to blade parallelism within thousandths of an inch per foot. |
| • | Controls designed to optimize safety in a robotic cell |
| • | Touch-screen interface for adjustment of cut rates & cut parameters |
| • | Pneumatic or hydraulic hold-downs implemented for fixtures |
| • | Capable of high flatness tolerances, eliminating secondary machining |
| • | Custom fixture design for specific parts attaches to the standard carriage interface |
| • | Optional standard hydraulic power unit for clamps & associated interlocks |
