Rimrock's custom robotic finishing systems are a flexible solution to achieve smooth surfaces and edges in addition to removing heavy flash.
These systems can use any combination of rigid, compliant, or abrasive tooling to reduce your labor costs and provide consistent, repeatable finishing.
Depending on budget and production requirements, a variety of options are available to feed parts into the finishing cell. The most economic solutions incorporate a fixtured shuttle or turntable device. To achieve the highest degree of production flexibility, a vision system can be incorporated into the cell for processing multiple parts without dedicated fixtures. The vision system will guide the robot to the part for accurate pick-up from a belt conveyor. Part changeover can then be easily accomplished by changing the robot gripper (manually or automatically) & program.
